What is Experience Ørestad

Experience Ørestad offers city walks, biking tours, bus excursions and talks about urban development, architecture and citylife in and about the new exciting urban area Ørestad and in other new-builder quarters in Copenhagen -  eg. the northern Harbour, the southern harbour, Islands Brygge and Krøyers plads. 

The Ørestad Region is the largest Danish urban development ever conceived and houses several award winning buildings and a vast nature reserve. The first buildings in Ørestad rose 14 years ago and new spectacular architecture rise every day.

What do you experience on a tour with Experience Ørestad?

With Experience Ørestad you have a chance to observe the unique relationship between the new modern architecture, nature and the residents in Ørestad.
The tours are centered around award winning buildings such as the VM Housing and the Mountain Dwelling by Bjarke Ingels Group, The Tietgen Dormitory, Royal Arena, Ørestad High School, Ørestad School, Hotel Bella Sky Comwell, Kalvebod Fælled Scholl and the 8House. Also recycled architecture is experienced in Ørestad such as the Upcycled Studios and Resource Row. The 8House is part of Bjarke Ingels triology in Ørestad. The 8House has a prime location too Kalvebod Common. Kalvebod Common is a huge nature reserve with great plains, light and abundant wildlife. Nowhere else in Europe is a nature reserve of this size so close to a metropolitan area. The tours are led by the experienced speaker Mira M. Cordsen or Ørestad colleagues. Mira has more than 12 years of experience as an English speaking guide and presenter. She has a master in Performance Design and Communication specializing in how urban event and community building can contribute to urban planning.
